James Cracknell’s 1968 G.T. 390 Fastback

British olympic rower James Cracknell stopped in one day with his wife on their honeymoon. He asked for an authentic 1968 G.T. Fastback with a big block 390, raven black exterior, and a red deluxe pony interior. It took us several months to find a decent s-code candidate, but we did and here it is. In storage since 1988 (that’s 14 years) it has no rust, and all original sheet metal. All she needs is a rebuilt engine, new suspension, new brakes, rebuilt transmission, new interior, and about a hundred hours of sanding and buffing to get the paint just right. We shipped her off to England a couple months later, and shortly after that, it ended up featured in Gentlemen’s Quarterly (British edition).

1969 Convertible

This isn’t quite a full restoration, we didn’t rebuild the engine or transmission, but everything else was redone: brakes, interior, paint, and front suspension.

Before

See how badly it’s leaning to the drivers side? A heavy air conditioning system caused this. Not a problem though, and easily fixed. If you have similar problems with your mustang, don’t be afraid to come in for an evaluation, most problems can be repaired to original specifications.
